Welcome to the official site of the Deltona Professional Firefighters Association. We are constantly adding to this site so visit us often.
We would like to thank Frank Nazario for all the hard work he did in opening and maintaining this website for the members and friends of our Local.
We would like to introduce you to the two latest members of the Deltona Fire Department. FF/EMT Kody Oakes and his brother FF/EMT Kyle Oakes. The hiring of two brothers at the same time is a first in Deltona's history. Currently the "Oakes boys" are in the orientation phase of the job and upon completion will be get their shift assignments. We would like to welcome them to our family and hope they have a long career with the Deltona Fire Department.

LOCAL 2913 ELECTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT
The Deltona Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2913 would like to congratulate "C" Shift's Kurt Vroman being elected as our new Vice President. Kurt beat out Christine Gallagher of "A" Shift in a very tight race.
Kurt brings years of leadership experience to our Local being a past Local 2913 President as well as the current District Vice President of the Florida Professional Firefighters. Congratulations Kurt on your latest accomplishment and a special thank you to our out going Vice President Anson Chucci for his years of dedicated service to our Local.
It is with great pleasure and yet great sadness that we announce the retirement of Paramedic Firefighter Mark W. Clayton. Mark will finish his fire service career with the Deltona Fire Department on September 11, 2014. Most recently he served under Lt. Chrissy Gallagher at Station 64 on "A" Shift and Division Chief William "Bush" Swisher. From here Mark will be starting a new venture working in North Dakota in the oil fields.
Mark began his career in the fire service in 1984 working for Brevard County Fire Rescue for three years. After a few years off the job Mark returned to the big red truck where he joined Volusia County Fire Services where he spent 4 years. From there he joined the ranks of the Orange City Fire Department for a period of five years while also working for EVAC Ambulance for seven years. He has now finished his career working for the Deltona Fire Department giving twelve years of dedicated service.
Mark has taken part in various activities with Deltona where he was an Honor Guard Commander, a CPR/ACLS Instructor, a bike team member as well as assisting Division Chief Chris Sievert in starting an Advanced Life Support service for the Orange City Fire Department.
Please take a minute to congratulate Mark on his retirement and wish him the best in his new venture. Mark, you will truly be missed by your Deltona family and we look forward to updates from the great white north.
Fixing a hole where the rain gets in......
Deltona: Today a group of Deltona Firefighters came together under the direction of Paramedic Engineer Tim Brown of "B" Shift to help our own Miss Josie with a few repairs needed for her roof. In the matter of several hours the roof was repaired and this afternoons typical showers will test the repairs. Tim has years of experience in roofing so we know the job was done right and will hold up to whatever mother nature may bring. Miss Josie does so much for the members of the Deltona Fire Department so this was just a small token of our appreciation for all she does for us every day.
Thanks to Brandon Brown, Mark Dalton. Robert Donaldson, Mel and Larry Nipper, Bush Swisher, Mitch Thurston and John Viccaro for pitching in and completing a job well done.
